Our little darling. We found out about you on the 18th of April – the day I celebrated my early 30th birthday. My bestfriends were the ones who pushed me to take a pregnancy test out of the blue in a coffee shop in Cebu. The first PT I have done took less than five seconds for the two clear red lines to show up. As ready as I was to have a baby, I felt nothing back then. I was not unhappy but also wasn’t screaming for joy like I thought I would. I was calm like I already knew what the result would be, except that it surprised me. I couldn’t believe the big news and in all honesty, I had trust issues with PT so I didn’t want to get my hopes up yet. But my friends were all very convinced that the result was indeed positive that they let me take another test. The same two red lines appeared. Mommy’s friends were all grinning. Your daddy was not around at that moment so I had to secretly take another test when we arrived home and showed it to him. We hugged tightly and even if you were still very tiny back then, I knew you felt the love and excitement we have for you.
Today, you are already 32 weeks and are moving really well every day, which is a good sign that you are one healthy baby. You are still inside mommy’s tummy but you already have shown your little personality. Sometimes you would stop moving when we try to feel your kicks. You don’t like pictures, as evidenced in the scans we have done to see you. But thank you for that one time you flashed us your face and opened your eyes as if you were taking a look at who’s bothering you while you were resting. It may have made you uncomfortable but you have no idea how special that moment was for mommy and daddy. Our silly baby, we can’t wait to meet you and show the world how wonderful you are.
My love, I hope you didn’t mind all the travels that mommy and daddy did. You see, we already left the Philippines. We are now living in the Netherlands. It’s a cold country but you will like it. We already bought most of the things that you would need and we are slowly preparing your room. We are finally in Europe and we promise to show you around when you get bigger.
Baby boy, I am so sorry for all the food mommy ate that you didn’t like. I am sorry for the times when mommy was sick. Daddy is taking really good care of me and you. Daddy and mommy talk to you a lot and it makes us so happy every time we feel your movements. You’re getting bigger and heavier now and we’re counting the days until your arrival.
We pray that you grow up to be God-fearing, brave, and confident because when you fear the Lord, you will be kind to everyone and you will have a good heart. When you are brave, you will never be afraid of standing up for yourself and speaking the truth. When you are confident, you will go to places.
A few more weeks and we will finally see you. We are ready for sleepless nights and exhausting days for you are all worth it. You are an answered prayer, a dream come true, and the best gift we could ever ask for. We have all been waiting for you but you choose the day when you’re prepared to greet us. We love you baby boy!
