A Little Edgy

Every time a new fashion trend comes in, I used to envy ladies wearing crop tops, skater skirts, maxi dresses, or whatever the status quo is. When I was still a student, I always asked my mom to buy me the same outfits like everybody else’s. But she never ever bought me something that’s still on trend. Her response would always be, “how do you think you’d stand out if you conform with everybody?” Of course, I didn’t listen to her because hello, I didn’t want to feel left out with my friends. They had skinny jeans in high school and I only had one old flare jeans. Mama never likes jeans or pants for me until now. She’ll be like, “you’re a girl, you’re supposed to wear skirts and dresses”, and I would just roll my eyes off because Maaa, it’s the new trend! Back in grade school days, sleeveless tops disgust me. I know, I was so silly. I only wanted to wear shirts and knee-high shorts. I think I didn’t realize I was born a girl. Lol. I don’t know what happened but when I reached high school, my comfort clothes were all gone. I had no choice but to get used to wearing ruffles, laces, and floral dresses. And when I started working, I had to wear corporate attire daily. That’s when my wardrobe transformed. Now, mama would complain why I keep wearing short shorts, backless tops, and outfits she thinks are so uncomfortable to wear. Also, if a new trend comes in and I seem to like it, I’d get mine after a year or a few months. Either I buy without telling her or by any chance she appreciates the style, she’d sew me one.

Actually, this post is about my OOTD from two weeks ago. I just had to tell you a little backstory of my love affair with fashion. Anyways, sharing with you my denim outfit, which happens to be the new fashion trend right now.
There’s a funny story actually about this outfit. My boyfriend thought I’ve grown out the jumpers. Lol.
Sunglasses | Emporium at P650
Blue off-shoulder crop top | Y.R.Y.S (Your Rule Your Style) at P299
Denim jumper | thrift shop at P180
That’s actually a bit pricey for me. Usually, I don’t buy clothes that cost more than a hundred bucks at thrift shops. But this one’s a steal.
Sneakers | Converse Jack Purcell at around P3000
My boyfriend just gave it to me. I think this is the limited edition one. Not really sure. And yeah, I know the price because I wanted to buy it, but someone loves me so much. He surprised it on a random day.
